Tips for Rainy Season

Is there anyone who doesn't love watching the tar-black sky and large moving clouds through the window of room? Well, the answer is NO. Monsoon is a season of joy, enjoyment and excitement. Change from the hot summer wind to the cool rainy breeze is really welcoming. But, there are many changes it brings. So, you need to take extra care about your skin, hair, dressing and health. Here are some tips for you:

SKIN CARE TIPS :

•   Skin becomes oily because of humid climate. So, wash your face as often as possible.

•   Instead of heavy makeup, use light makeup. Opt for waterproof makeup products, particularly for kajal and eyeliner.

•   Better to avoid cream based lotions. Makeup after calamine based foundation is safer and will hold makeup perfectly.

•   Even if the weather is cloudy, use sunscreen lotion to protect your skin.

•   Apply moisturisers, as they keep your skin hydrated.

•   Avoid lipsticks, especially dark shaded ones. Apply coconut oil if they are cracked.

•   Wash your lips at night and apply some milk cream.

•   Humidity under the jewellery makes the skin irritable. So, avoid heavy & artificial jewellery.

•   Have a bath with warm water to which eucalyptus oil is added (only for adult skin; pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid this).
This gives a fresh feeling to the skin.

•   Use soap free cleansers and good scrub to keep your skin moist all the day.

•   Better to avoid bleaching and facials in this season as bleaching may harm your skin and facial makes your skin rough.

•   Place your feet in warm water for 15 min. Do this at least once in a week.

•   Apply coconut oil mixed with turmeric to your feet to avoid cracked heels.

HOMEMADE FACE PACKS :

•   Fruit face packs are good during this season. Simply mash the fruit and apply it on face and neck. Leave it for 5 min and clean it with water.
You can use papaya, tomato, cucumber, strawberry etc. Citrus fruit face packs help in reducing excess oils from the skin.

•   Apply mixture of curd and honey to your face, taken as 1 drop of honey for 1 table spoon of curd. This moisturises your skin.

•   Prepare face pack by mixing gram flour, turmeric powder, lime, honey and fresh cream. This gives glow to your skin, moisturises the skin
and helps in clearing the blocked pores.

HAIR CARE TIPS :

The first thing that a girl says when it rains is:"OMG, MY HAIR!" Yes, we girls love our hair a lot. So, why don't we take some extra care about our hair in this rainy season? Here are a few hair care tips to follow in this monsoon:

•   At night time, massage your hair with warm coconut oil & comb it for even distribution of oil on your scalp and hair.

•   Applying neem oil is a best remedy for itchy or irritating scalp due to dandruff.

•   Wash your hair as often as possible. Also remember to shampoo your hair every time you get drenched in rain.

•   Apply shampoos in a gentle manner & do not forget to use a conditioner after every wash.

•   Hair colouring is not a good idea in this season as it takes very long time to wash your hair & get it dried.

•   Increase consumption of milk products & soya products, which gives natural healthy look to your hair.

•   Leaving down your hair on a rainy day turns your hair into frizzy mess. So, better to tie your hair into braids or high pony tail.

HEALTH CARE TIPS :

Though the monsoon gives relief from scorching heat of the sun, we need to be very careful regarding the food we take and the activities we perform. So, here are some health tips:

•   Include garlic, pepper, ginger, turmeric, jeera powder and coriander in your diet as they help in reducing indigestion problems &
   improve immune system.

•   In any season our body needs lot of liquid intake, especially water to stay hydrated. So drink lots of water to flush out all unwanted toxins.
It also keeps your skin fresh for longer time.

•   Try to limit the consumption of fried and oily foods.

•   Do not walk barefooted or wear wet shoes, especially suggested for diabetic patients.

•   Drink herbal tea. This helps in improving immune system.

•   If you are bitten by a mosquito, avoid scratching it.

•   It is better not to go for watery food during monsoon. Better to consume food that is dry in nature.

•   Flu virus can enter the body through your eyes, mouth or nose. So, try not to touch your face very often.

•   Exercise is an important part of health care irrespective of season. So, if it's pouring outside try for working out indoor.
